Hello everyone, what a fantastic weekend. Saturday morning waking up at 530 AM was totally worth the event i had been counting down for. I had read reviews and blog post about this blogging conference from last year but never would have imagined how informative it really would be. Urbanmomdesign and i didnt know what to expect we were so nervous but really excited at the same time! Upon our arrival we were given these pretty little packages with a name tag, notbook, pen and some candies. a greenery wall was set up with mini clothes pins for everyone to hang up their buisness cards it was adorable and I felt so welcomed and was ready for the day!
The first speaker of the day was Donna Williams from FunkyJunkInteriors. Her story was beyond motivational, she turned picking up junk from the side of the road into a successful business which I truly admire. I learned from her that you need to brand yourself and take risks, nothing will come easy and that you have to work hard to get to where you want to be. What stuck with me the most from her speaking was to stay original, focus on yourself and your content and above it all stay authentic. Thank you so much Donna for telling us all your story, it was very touching and will only remind me that no matter how down i am feeling that it will get easier and i can get where i want to be!
It was so awesome being in a room full of people who understand you and are trying to do the same things as you are. It was the first time i didnt feel like everyone was looking at me for taking photos of everything and anything. I am thankful for having my friend Thelma with @urbanmomdesign by my side through this great day however we met some great bloggers. Thank you to DesignsByDima, KatieSpinks and BethanyThisLittleEstate you were all so friendly and really helped make the day that much better! How great is our Etsy Booth Photo 🙂
There were booths set up throughout the space a PARA PAINTS booth where you could take a professional head shot for your blog and record a quick little clip explaining what PARA PAINT color was your favorite and why. At the Delta Faucets booth i had to snap a pic since my new kitchen faucet was showcased 🙂 Champagne Bronze Trinsic Model
There were different interactive contests you could participate in by completing and Instagraming a photo. I entered the Urban Barn Table Setting competition and of course the get a free ghost chair with Structube booth.
There was unlimited coffee and sweets served along with a delicious lunch.
I met some pretty amazing people my absolute favorite blogger MonikaHibbs formally from TheDoctorsCloset, who was just as nice as I imagined she would be. She left her job as a Doctor and fulfilled her dream of lifestyle blogging and now also has her own online store SHOPbymonika, if that’s not motivation I don’t know what is. Mr Scott Mcgilvery from HGTV’s Income Property, owning 25 properties by the age of 25 was pretty impressive. Let alone now owning 100, a huge inspiration and it was great to here some of his wise words. He actually really reminded me of my dad, who is also in real-estate and owns multiple properties. I learned from Scott to always set goals for your business, set the bars high and get used to delayed gratification nothing comes easy and right away. Brian Bauemler was also there from HGTV’s Leave it to Brian.
I learned tons and came home with a notbook full of notes and inspiration. Motivated to get started with everything I obsorbed and start making my dream goals possible. Blogging is something that I am still not 100% comfortable with, I am no writer but I have passion and think with that I can get to where I want to be. Thank you Jennifer Flores of RamblingRenovators for putting this amazing conference together you are also an inspiration and did such an amazing job organizing the day.
