Hello Everyone I have been slacking with the update of Casa C Facelift.
Here you can see some of the before photos, It was really dark and gloomy. The paint alone was just to dark for this area with not much natural light coming in. I knew we needed to lighten the walls up first and go from there with the rest of the design.
Going along with the traditional, classic theme of the living room design, I decided to add some texture with some wall paper. We purchased the wall paper from Benjamin Moore. I loved all the details that went into these wall coverings. Covering the tan paint with this light fresh classical wallpaper really changed the entire look of this foyer. Floral prints with hues of sparkle helped transform this entry from gloomy to bright and airy.
An updated console table with golden/brass trim we found from Bombay in Cambridge, which is now closing!! Even though that store isn’t my personal style it had great selection for the more traditional, classic home owner. The mirror was a great find and deal from Home sense we had originally placed this over the fireplace however playing around with it i knew it was meant for the foyer. Layering of a few books with the statue sculpture contributes to the classic feel of the design. Simple symmetry comes into play, I love the clean look that symmetrical styling can do to a space.
We replaced the dated chandelier with a smaller scale brighter piece and filled the vases with a touch of floral. I chose my mother’s wedding flower which ads that much more of a special touch to the design of her home.
Here is the after…
What do you think? A lot more welcoming, fresh and airy.

Hi Everyone, i hope you are having a great week 🙂
A few weeks ago I started to work on a family gallery wall for my moms house. She had a perfect area in her hall way that was bare and tons of family photos with no place for them. There are lots of options and styling when it comes to gallery walls. They can cover an entire wall not knowing where it began or it can be subtle, classic and symmetrical. Frames on a wall don’t have to match, black, silver, wood, gold and painted frames of various shapes and sizes can all be beautifully added to the same wall.
My mom however, wanted to keep it simple and classic to go with the style of her home. What I like to do is pre mark my area of where my frames will be displayed. Especially if someone is looking for a crisp clean look, this can be easily done with paper scissors and tape!
You can play around with the layout and see what visually balances best. From there you can plan out the size frames and photos you will be displaying.
Once you have your photos printed, I like to arrange them on the floor and play with the layout again first before I start nailing holes in the walls. Once you have an arrangement that you like and will fit nicely on your wall you can start placing them in the frames and begin displaying!
And they’re up! To me there is nothing more important than family and I know my mom feels the same way. She absolutely adores her family gallery wall.
It was hard to capture on camera without the glare from the outside light. The last frame on the right isn’t the right size we are still on the hunt for one, so that the last two at the bottom will be exact. All we need now is to sand down her cherry wood credenza and re stain to update. A little accessories and another great addition to Casa C Complete, that will have to be on another posting 🙂
Hope you enjoyed!
